Journeyman Position Details


  • Journeyman plumbers are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing pipe systems according to specifications or plumbing codes
Essential Job Functions:
  • Adhere to safety procedures
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, valves, fixtures, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment
  • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings, using hand or power tools
  • Estimate time, material, or labor costs for use in project plans
  • inspect structures to assess material or equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, or to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring
  • Use relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
  • Requires vocational training after high school, or equivalent experience, resulting in journeyman level expertise
  • Ability to frequently lift / carry 50 lbs. in a 10 hour day (may occasionally be expected to lift up to 100 lbs.)
  • Must be able to bend at waist, reach above shoulder, climb, or squat continuously 8-10 hours per day
  • Use upper extremities for grasping, pulling, and fine manipulations
  • work outdoors in extreme conditions (i.e. heat, cold, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions as well as an understanding of basic math; must work within precise standards
  • Ability to run, maneuver, navigate, or drive vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, skid-steers, passenger equipment, etc.
  • Must be drug free for the duration of employment with Cutting Edge Plumbing & Mechanical
  • $60K-$100K per year wage plus benefits
